I crave colour!
I was invited over at Faiza's salon among 8 others by Keune, for the colour craving activity. I could choose from any of the colour craving series and I decided to go for Velvet Violet with a tinge of Lovely Lavender.
I have a VERY strong belief when it comes to hair colour though. NEVER go for a full head. An ombre or balayage is a smarter approach if your're afraid whether the colour will suit you. If the top of your head remains your natural colour, the change is more likely to suit you because it isn't a 100 percent colour all over your head, and also your roots remain untouched and un-damaged.
It didn't come out exactly the way I had hoped for because my hair had already been colour treated before so it wouldnt take up the colour, which is why initially I was like..umm this isnt what I wanted but it looked really nice and I ended up LOVING IT. I realized that may be what I wanted (TOO PURPLE) wouldn't have looked as good.
Interestingly, it looks different in ever light. The colour of my head is everything between pink and purple. It looks less purple from the top because I wanted the gradient effect (ombre) as I've already mentioned. So it has this brown/red feel going on to make a smooth transition from my actual colour to violet. The bottom looks perfectly violet. In fluorescent light, its violet, in the sun its red or pink, and under dim lights its red brown.
Unfortunately, going for dramatic colours like these from the colour craving series means your hair requires a significant amount of cut down - bleach! Bleach damages your hair, thats true but hair grows out and new hair comes and you can totally recover and replenish your hair when you look after it. I've done that before, but my hair never seemed damaged once it recovered. Anyways, hair dye is your call. I wanted to do something different, and make a statement. And more than anything I was craving some colour and some change. Change is ALWAYS good, and always refreshing so why the heck not? :D
So if you're looking for change, and want to add some colour, then colour craving by Keune seems like a good idea. Here are some pictures!
